PROGRAMS- Rising Star Educational Enrichment Program
We really believe that every child is a rising star. We are committed to magnifying your child’s star capabilities. Our Rising Stars Educational Enrichment Program is designed to promote and provide educational, cultural, recreational, spiritual and personal enrichment for each child.
The need for the Rising Stars After-School Program is of extreme importance as three of our targeted schools were identified as persistently "low achieving." Barrett, Gate City, and Robinson Elementary Schools were listed among 31 Birmingham City Schools as chronic failures according to a list created by the state under new guidelines. It is our goal to raise test scores and overall academic achievement for all of our rising star participants. Support us as we help meet the educational needs of children and families that reside in our neighborhoods.
Excellence in education is achieved when:
- Our public schools become schools of choice.
- Educational activities are reinforced throughsummer camps and after school programs.
- Scholarships are awarded that recognize significant educational achievements of high school and college students stressing community service; &
- All adults have educational and job skills
